I put the pictures and a list of names in the Thomas Calvary cemetery from Forest city, Sarpy county Ne.

List of Names, may not be complete in a letter written August 27,1968

Dear Mr. Miller

Set forth herewith are the names, dates of death and in some cases the dates of birth of all of the parties who lie buried in Thomas’ Calvary Cemetery, Approximately four and one half miles northwest of Gretna, Nebraska overlooking the Elkhorn Valley. This cemetery is located on the former homestead of Squire John Thomas and his wife, Mary.

Mr. John Thomas purchased the land on which this cemetery is located from a neighbor, Mr. Matthias Connor, according to record deed of transactions.

There are the Doran’s, Fogarty’s, McCormick’s buried in the Thomas’ Cemetery whose data as to death etc, I do not have. A number other pioneers of the community are buried in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery about two miles south-west of Gretna on the ridge just east of the old original town site of Forest City, Nebraska Territory which was abandoned by its residents in about 1884. Those people moved to the present site of what is now Gretna and built that town alongside of the Burlington Railroad in conjunction with people from Blossom which was a town site east of the present Gretna.

1. Squire John Thomas died on July 7 1862 at the age of 81 years.
2. His wife, Mary Thomas died on December 25, 1858 at the age of 65 years.
3. Their son, Anthony Thomas died July 5, 1870 at the age of 44 years.
4. Their son, John Thomas and his wife, Catherine, died at the ages of 84 years and 76 respectively.
5. Teresa S Thomas, daughter of John and Catherine Thomas, died Sept 15 1891 at the age of 22 years, 10 months.
6. Frances J. son of John and Catherine Thomas died June 11 1868 at the age of 15 years.
7. George Thomas, son of John and Catherine Thomas is buried in this cemetery but I do not have the date but it is around 1918.
8. William Langdon father of Mrs. John F Hughes (Elizabeth Hughes) died August 18, 1884 at the age of 62 years, 6 months.
9. Margaret Langdon, wife of William, nee Thomas, daughter of Squire John and Mary Thomas-1824-1912
10. Michael W Langdon brother of William 1856-1903.
11. James Langdon, brother of William Langdon, died June 1889 at the age of 33 years 1 month, 20 days.
12. Patrick L Langdon, brother of William Langdon, died May 21, 1879 at the age of 62 years, 10 months and 5 days.
13. Mary J Langdon, daughter of A J. Langdon and M. E, Langdon, died October 14, 1881 at the age of 3 years.
14. Joseph T Langdon, son of A. J. and M. E. Langdon, died on October 14, 1851 at the age of 2 years.
15. Bridget Connor, wife of Mathew Connor, died Jan 3 1864 at the age of 68 years.
16. Matthias Connor died February 14, 1885 at the age of 85 years.
17. Bridget Dillon, wife of J. Dillon, died May 16, 1869 at the age of 43 years.
18. John Donahoe, son of J. and M Donahoe, died March 8, 1879 at the age of 4 years, 10 months and 25 days.
19. Michael Melia was born September 29, 1798, died September 29, 1871 at the age of 73 years.
20. Bridget Melia, wife of Michael Melia died July 1, 1900 at the age of 81 years, 11 months, 21 days. She was the local midwife
